On my third visit to Zimbabwe, starting in October 1980, when I worked there for eight months, I met up with a University friend in Harare. He and his wife organised a trip to the eastern highlands for one long weekend, which turned out magic | The country falls sharply down to Mozambique | ||||||||

Then on to Wankie national park where we stayed at a modest camp site. No lights, and an interesting hole in the fence made by a prey animal trying to get away from a hunter animal. There was also a tendency for hyenas to come and collect the dirty cutlery, but after cleaning it, they didn't bring it back. We did our own dishwashing | |||||||||
