255 g Firm white ocean fish cut into small cubes | |
Juice of 8-10 limes | |
0.50 White onion, thinly sliced & separated into rings | |
1 Tomato, peeled & diced | |
2 Canned jalapeno chiles | |
2 tbsp Oil | |
2 tbsp Vinegar | |
2 tbsp Chopped cilantro leaves or 0.5 tsp dried oregano | |

1 Avocado, peeled & sliced |
Place the fish in a glass or porcelain bowl. Pour the lime juice over the fish, using enough juice to cover the fish, and marinate at least 4 hours or overnight. Stir occasionally to be sure all surfaces of the fish take in the juice. Add the onion, tomato, chiles, oil, vinegar and cilantro and mix gently. Refrigerate another 2 hours. Just befor serving, place the lettuce leaves on individual plates, arrange the seviche on top and garnish with the avocado slices. | |
