125 g grated apple | |
310 g currants | (non electric) |
125 g prunes | (not shrivelled old grannies) |
125 g mixed peel | |
100 g chopped nuts | (not lunatics) |
250 g sultanas | (without turbans) |
3 tbsp syrup | (You may lick the spoon) |
125 g dry bread crumbs | (A little like my jokes) |
250 g flour | (Not roses, not pansies) |
0.50 tsp salt | (Of the sea, not of the earth) |

Granny`s Christmas Pudding Process Cut up and stone prunes (a catapult may be used). Add raisins, mixed peel and brandy. (Use calculator) Soak overnight. (Not you). Peel, core and grate apples, (or at least irritate them). Cover with lemon juice and rind. (A real tooth curler). Sieve together flour, spices, breadcrumbs, salt and baking powder (Rub a dub dub). Cream holsum and sugar, (sweet and holsum like my wife) – then add eggs one at a time. (Use fingers or calculator) Add syrup then fruit then dry ingredients (Wot a mess) Put in Holsum coated bowls. Cover with wax paper and steam for 5 hours. (The pudding that is. You can have a sauna). It’s ready for eating - Enjoy | |
