• Its doors opened on January 1st 1881, and the architectural Project was initially laid out by the french architect Esteban Ricard in 1876,

• however it was Jesús Muñoz Tebar a venezuelan engineer who introduced a number of changes to the project, performed the construction works and finished the theatre in1880.

• The columns of the foyer and the galleries are of strong smooth steel, and the external roofing is a steel and wood structure covered by plates of galvanized and grooved iron.
• The theater's floor plan has an oval shape, and the main floor access is resolved through an archery supported by two gigantic columns.
