- The TEATRO NACIONAL is the second oldest architectural structure designed for cultural purposes in Caracas after the Teatro Municipal.
- It was originally conceived to showcase “Creole- only” scenic arts, but nevertheless during its long history it has been scene to many great 20th century performers not only from the scenic arts but from the musical and dance arts as well.
- Alejandro Chataing was the architect in charge of the project, and artists as the Spanish sculptor Angel Cabré, and the painter Antonio Herrera Toro cooperated in the interior design.
